Super Jet Fastest standups on the water

i used to race in region 5 back in 02. i had a superstock sj.msd total loss, mag pump etc. i never radared it, but im pretty sure it was in the 59-60 mph range.im wondering what the fastest skiis are on the water nowadays? i assume its the 4 stroke skiis now. benellis? are they 60mph boats out of the box? how fast are the pros going now days? is 4 stroke always gonna be faster than superstock 2 stroke?

Good question! Kinda always wondering myself. About 10 years ago I picked up a SJ with a 155psi 701 and a work of art polished speedwerks dry pipe...we hit 61 on the radar! My ski goes 48. Are the pro's in the dang 70's!!??

san francisco craigslist under superjet pro mod ski, jeff lacobs 1998 world finals winning ski radared at 65mph. the back up motor for this boat was in this guys buddys 96 RN and radared at 62mph. when i bought that boat, i rode it and it was just as fast as my superstock polaris octane 61-62mph. i put that running gear in my yellow freak and it was the fastest boat in our group and did flips n rolls. the guys name is dale hammerel and he'll take 10k for that 65mph SJ. not a bad deal if you put that dasa 800cc PV motor and mag pump running gear in an AM hull, then sell the SJ as a stock boat or hull. just about every bad ass flat water freestyle ski with a 1000cc motor or bigger , does 60+ mph, we just dont do it.

Couple off years back ther was 14 old on a 4 stroke that whent 80+ ther was video off it

That was a WDK hull with a huge Seadoo 4 stroke motor shoehorned in it. Not race legal. It was more of a "Hey, Lets build this", I believe RiverRat Racing sold that ski soon after. It was Brandon McMillan if I am not mistaken.

The very best racing sxr1100s and boosted hydros will run mid to upper 60s (64-67) set up for closed course. You can make them faster, but you have to sacrifice holeshot, hook up or both. In racing, it has more to do with getting off the line first while being able to stay hooked up as the race goes on. That's the hard part. Lol.
