Come to ride with us and we'll give the scoop on everything you need to know.
We ride Jack London Square all the time, right off the Aquatic Park. (Next to the Fire Dept training building)

Thanks everybody. I'll put some serious consideration into the 93 sn. It's definitely more than I was planning on spending at first, but if it checks out I'll probably pick it up. I was originally planning on going out there this evening, but a few things came up and I couldn't make it happen tonight. Probably Thursday.

The guy with the 93 sells jets skis as a side gig and he says he hasn't taken this ski out. It's been in a garage for like 8 years. I asked him to take it out and run it before I'll even consider it. Also due to the fact it hasn't been run in years it doesn't have a pink slip or registration, but he said that can be taken care of pretty easily and doesn't cost too much.

I am generally a little more trusting of the guy with the 90 sn (the one with less mods), but if I can be sure of what I'm doing in assessing each ski it shouldn't matter too much.

I'm gonna check with a couple buddies to see if any of them have a tool to check the compression on the cylinders I can use.

Thanks Kraqus! I'll definitely keep my eye on the Local Norcal crew and will definitely try to get out to Jack London Square sometime. I'm thinkin I might need to get my ski ready for saltwater though, right? Also, I'm thinkin I might wanna get my game dialed a little before I come out. I'll probably pick it up pretty quick, but last time (the only time) I got on a standup was when I was like 10 years old. Now I'm 32.

I definitely appreciate the invite though and hope to see you guys out there pretty soon.

That ski you listed, the 93, has been on there for days. I dont know that dude persoanlly, but I know I saw the same guy advertising a round nose as totally stock, low hours, and it was single carb......

I think its way overpriced, and I know where quite a few sjs are right now, in the redding area, for around 1500 bucks, and they would have a 701. Pm me if your interested.

Hey Sparkplug. I'm definitely interested, but I'm new to X-H20 and I'm not sure the PMs are getting through to you. I've tried sending a few messages and added you as a friend, but none of the messages I've sent have shown up in my "Sent Items" folder.

In any case, I'm interested in the SJ's you have a line on. Let me know.

I have a 650 sn and a 701 sn and tell you the truth allthough my 701 is modded and superfast the 650 stock is almost better as a starter ski. I think you said this is your first ski if so you prob dont want gobbs of power and speed right off the bat anyways. My dad is around 200 lbs and he is a novice for sure and he like the 650 bettter just because it is eaiser for him tocontrol and it wont get awayfrom him. And go yamaha for the 650s i have owned both and the kawi is nowhere close to as good or easy to ride. Anyways have fun and what ever ski you get rip that shet!

What are you talking about "is way overpriced"?
Did you read all the stuff it has?
is about right on the price, I would not say "Waaaaaay overpriced".

THIS is WAY overpriced:

http://sacramento.craigslist.org/boa/3016101721.html
http://fresno.craigslist.org/boa/3009421702.html

Take a couple of hundred off any of these and is a good deal:

This is a better deal IMO.

Get 2 skis and a trailer !!!!
Sell the kawi and recoup some money for Mods.

Back to the original ski.
Now the fact that the 93 has been in storage for so long should be a red flag.
Make sure you check the compression on Both Cylinders !!!!!
Best of luck!

Hey Benny, thanks again man! The second link you listed for the ones that would be a good deal with a couple hundred know off is one of the one's I'm gonna be looking at. The blue and white camo around the hull is pretty ugly and the ski is pretty basic, but I am still considering it.

Here's the link to the 93 I've mentioned:

Here is a another that looks pretty sweet and might be worth the long drive:

By the way, I don't know what the deal is with my PMs, but I can't access any of my "Sent Items" and I'm not sure I'm getting everything in my "Inbox" either. I sent a message to X-h2o about it. Hopefully they can get it handled for me pretty soon. Has anyone else had problems like that?

So I took my new SJ out for the first time yesterday... I think everything is basically fine with it, but I had a little trouble and I need to get it figured out. It starts up right away and has no problem at low throttle, but at mid to high throttle it kinda chokes out and dies. Kinda stalls out. Anyone have any ideas what could be goin on?

It's basically a stock engine, Mikuni carb (not sure what model/size). I bought the superjet the night before and the compression was dead on at 162 in either cylinder that night when my buddy and I were checkin it over and we didn't notice it cutting out like this at high throttle while we were checkin it out either. I was also getting a lot of water in the engine compartment because I suck right now and havin it cut out on me like that made it even harder. But I don't think the water was causing this. If it was water getting into the engine it would stop running and not start up again. Right?

I think the guy I bought it from is pretty trustworthy and don't think he is tryin to pull a fast one on anybody. It seemed at first impression like maybe a carburetor issue (and it might be), but I got in touch with the guy I bought it from after the session and he said it sounded like a fuel issue. The last time he rode it (a couple weeks ago) it was fine, but after the ride he topped it with some fuel that might have been pretty old. He said it sounds like a fuel issue to him. He said I should drain the fuel out of the tank and that there is also a filter on the carburetor that might need to be cleaned.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be going on or does anyone have experience with a problem like this? Do you think it is a fuel quality problem? A carb adjustment problem? Something more serious?

Thanks for any help.

Carb rebuild time !!!!

Or at least take it apart and get to the inside filter, I bet is clogged.
That will cause the symptom you described.....which BTW I experienced myself too.

The filters will sit with Gas on it and slowly begin to disintegrate/dissolved.

The tiny fibers will travel through the lines and make their way into the Carb.
The last line of defense is a small filter that eventually gets clogged.

Get used to, from now on, to change the filters ONCE A YEAR.....regardless of usage.
I personally have one filter coming out of each Gas line from the tank, then I have one more BEFORE the incoming Carb line.

Hit up JETMANIAC, He sells some good filters:
