650/X-2 Fiberglassing an old X2!

we have been talking about doing this for awhile, but we finally decided to do some glass work and other mods to the X2. We have already done a 750 swap into the ski, and now its time for some glass work.

Its a 1989 Kawasaki X2 with 750 swap

I started by pulling a mold off of a set of destroyers....

they obviously would not fit a X2, so some trimming, foaming and shaping I got a better shape

Busted the top trim off, screws wouldn't budge with an impact driver and removed all the unused junk

HOOD CHOP! I always hated the hump on a X2, looks so much sexier with it off. Plus I can change the air intake

Last night I glassed over my sponsons and need to trim them up and then I will hopefully have them ready to glass on the hull

there is not enough X2 love on the X, but I like riding it. Its really my friends ski, but it stays at my place, on my trailer, so its mine right?

Did some more work. Got the hood glassed, need to add some more and sand it down. Also got one sponson on, waiting on the exhaust still

other side is done with new exhaust outlet, it will be trimmed flush when done

I like the exhaust coming out of the tubbie that is awesome! Do you still have the molds for the destroyers? If so would you make more tubbies and how much? :fingersx:

Thanks and no, I had them off a SJ, an to get them to fit, it took alot of work on a X2. As much as I love fiber glass, I do hate it. Maybe when it's done I can pull a mold off the finished tubbies. The exhaust is a one off too, buddy welded it up for me.

Got most of the sanding done. Hopefully will be taking it for a test ride soon
