I've been plagued with problems (not from the hull) since I got this thing together so I've only put a few tanks of actual hard riding into it. First my bendix went out in the middle of the lake, then I blew an oring in the head, and then my stainless eyeloop that I have for the ratchetstrap and limiting rope decided to open up on me (hardware store was closed by this time on sunday night).. but besides all that I did get some fun in...
*Don't judge me on poor sentences etc - I've been studying for a final for the last 8 hours*
I am absolutely in love with this hull. Its really like nothing I have riden.. nothing like the SJ or SXR. The stability is amazing, you think your going to fall but it recovers everytime and I have yet to bury the nose when trying to slash around off the first wave of a yatch. I can carve it and then when I boat comes I can launch into a roll or go for a backie a second later. The -4" is perfect and exactly what I wanted, the nose is a little light with my feet in the holds but as soon as I put one under the fireextinguisher it levels out instantly. I have yet to have a day where there were big boats AND it also being calm enough to set up for a backie and rolls...that being said I have thrown more 3/4 - full revolution rolls in the 5 tanks I have through this thing then I have done in the entire last years season. I've only nosed in on backies but I know as soon as I get a calmer day where I'm not fighting cross chop I'll be bringing the ski all the way around. I haven't played much with flat water because, like I said before, I haven't had a nonchoppy day and frankly I hate flat water. I did pull the trim and lean back off a
ty setup wake and I got the ski upside down. I am convinced with more skill and practice it could be done but I don't see myself putting to much time into it. I love chasing boats lol
In all I am happy with the hull and its what I wanted, I just wish it was on schedule so I could have alot more time on it.
Thats all I got for now..today is the final for summer classes so hopefully now I'll have some more free time to play with my ski!
