After five months :Banane36:eek:f countless disapointment I finally picked up my new hull last night. I bought the rn from an X member in April. It was supposed to be here a month ago....but...eh..not worth even sayin why....

A huge crate for such a small package, the crate weighes as much as the hull:ugh:. I can't wait to get it all built up. I think i may keep it ugly for the remainder of the season and then redoit right before daytona. :nana:

right now i think all i need is a few bolts and screws, some epoxy to fill wear holes form the front exhaust, turf and padding for the front foot hold and a RN bracket. Everything else from the sn should transfer.:beerchug:

old vs new:Banane09:

Pic from last night

Weird interior shot or front exhaust and reinforcing. The best part about this ski/deal is hull is built according to my specific surf needs. A special thanks to a certian someone.

Um... i am pretty sure it has the original hood that sean bought when he purchased it from you. It is an after market hood (wdk) with a special made crash pad for the pole from turf, still in decent shape.

I just got off the phone with Radney from xmetal and i should have a bracket coming out from FL before those guys head off to world finals. I should probably just go all xmetal...but i hold out hope that i will go RRP. With all the anticipated debt....i might as well.

Getting started

Last night i was so excited that I ripped my sn apart to get the parts for my RN build.

my pole setup on the sn left something to be desired:sad2: so i am glad to be away from that boat for a minute.

Here's Superjetdave's house. That is his red sn in the background we are building both skis at the same time. Goal is to be up and ripping the surf asap.

sweet man glad to see you finally got that hull!! cant wait to try it out lol

good to hear you both are getting close on the ski's.

we need another road trip :beerchug:

dont complain about an OVERBUILT crate when you got your ski in the cond as expected ! I recieved a ski in a broken UNDERBUILT crate and it was not even tied down !! It made the trip like a ''marble in a boxcar '' anyways good luck on your build TURBO , see ya in DAYTONA

yup...that is the WDK hood...THere was a stock hood that went with this boat that has all kinds of history..Owned by about 4-5 different board members at one time..

the crash pad was something that motosurfer cooked up for me...He spent about 3 hours on that thing, and I put a small rip in it the first day..I have tried to make one same style before but it has never come out the same..

you now own the ultimate surf boat....it is UNBREAKABLE

U know at one point I actually bought that hull back from Sean..but then we ended up working a different deal..

that hull is the best handling ever....Unless it is damaged I owuldlnt worry about a refoam, I just did it less than 2 years ago!

Thanks for all the support guys:arms:. I was pretty sure of what i was getting, and i am very impressed with the crate that sean built. Right now i have a huge list of what to do on the build.

First question is about paint....can i paint even though there is turf already installed? :dunce:What is the technique?

Color? back to white:sleeping: or something exotic like orange or green:sneaky:? Black turf stays, it is in awesome shape. I only want to pay for a solid color. what type of paint is best? how do i prep?

So many questions so little time....8-12 footers forcast for tomorrow.:scared:..damn....i need this thing built soon!!!!:fingersx:

Where is everyone getting the exhaust hose that doesn't collapse? I remember a thread about that....

What to do about a few small rubbed holes in the hull. I will get a pic later tonight, but the motor was lose and rubbed a small hole (not all the way though) in the bottom of the hull. How do i go about fixing it? I was ging to sand it and prep it, and then put a few peices of glass over it filling it in with epoxy (west systems).

Anyone got spare pump shims? i need a couple. edit: NM got them now.

keep it black and white bro, it looked so freaking sexy ini those pix when the paint was fresh..

Carefully tape over the turf, if anything overlap the tap to the turf and if you overspray you can just rub it off.....

seriously, dont bother with a refoam....it was done recently enough to where its not worth it...yes, the ski feels heavy but it is all due to reinforcement..LOTS of reinforcement....I reinforced the piss out of the tray when I sealed it back up, inserts were all 5200'd, exhaust outlet 5200'd...the whole shebang. You already have a trim tube and the hull is setup for TRUE dual cooling..

fix the holes exactly as you described... :)

Sweet Jeff. Glad to see it. That's going to be a bad ass boat. Can't wait to ride it!

Hell yeah, I can't wait to get back on your X2. We need to friggen RIDE man. I am going through withdrawls. :squint:

Idok, I am definitely going white and black on this build. I loved that look from your pics. I am certainly not going to refoam. No reason for a noob to mess up something experienced hands fabricated. I'll save that for my soaked SN. :hitwithrock:

I need to finish getting the hull prepped this weekend. I have almost all the parts i need now...just waiting on a few packages to arrive. :arms:
