Super Jet Finger getting shocked when riding ski

96 sj is shocking my finger when i ride it, i know a few of you have had this problem, and i believe it is my ss switch, anyone got some ideas, dont think its my bilge switch.... let me know

bad grounds, the cdi is searching for a ground.

I had that problem before, I think it was a either a bare bilge pump wire or a wire in the s/s switch. It make riding a very masochistic experience.

any one on my throttle hand, it gets worse the wettler the ski gets, and seems to be more intense the higher the rpm

wear some rubber gloves, that should help.

dielectric grease your plug caps. and put a ground on your head if your running TL.

Ground your ignition to the engine block. Try to get all your grounds to the same place on the engine.

Mine was always a bilge wire that rubbed something and ground out. Has happene to me atleast 3x...lol

Try to get all your grounds to the same place on the engine.

why all the same place?

So the current doesn't have to travel between all the grounding locations to get to the battery.

i need to water test it still but no wires were exsposed rubbing, but my battery dies on it own in a day after being chargedm im wondering if it is creating a short, ill let you know the results and final fix when i get it

get a clip on current meter and test different wires to see where the current is leaking

i believe the batt is shot as my charger wont fully charge it, ill put a new bat in and test

That's not why you're getting shocked.

Look in the handlepole / waterbox area for a chafed wire shorting to ground.

well i put a new batt in and just restraitened some wire to keep them from rubbn and so far so good rode it today bout 45 minutes with no shock, but my luck will change, ill keep this thread up to date
