Fire extinguisher in Tray

Has anyone ever thought (or did) about making their own Fire Extinguisher Canister for the Tray?
Last night I found some 4"(or so) PVC pipe laying around and randomly tossed the PWC extinguisher in to see how it fit and it fit flawlessly! So it just crossed my mind to ask if anyone has ever done so?

I thought maybe trying it out and then wrapping the round PVC pipe in Turf and using a black paint on the end caps??? The only thing is... attaching it! That I am still slightly iffy on how to do...

I would like to do something like that too, but kinda worried about loosing it in the surf. Maybe turn it into a front wedge or front lifter across the tray? Maybe have a locking system, pad and turf the entire thing. Possibly a twist lock or something. Sounds do able!!

I will work on one this weekend... Why not ya know?... i have left over turf, plus PVC 3.5" and it fit great with very little movement. All I need is the end cap for a buck and I should be golden! Just attaching it might be the issue! lol

I'll post on Monday when the fab is all done and go from there!

A standard FE will fit perfect in 3in pvc
use 2-3inch gem cap (rubber caps for plumbing)for ends leave clamps off
turf pipe
make pipe with gem caps fit tight against bond rails
Install straps thru bulk head with clips
Your done FE holder and front foot hold

Here is what I am thinking...

However, I can not get it to go fully down to the tray(which I do not mind) because its like 1/2 and Inch too wide. I think I'm going to Turf the center and leave the ends painted black. I do think I know how to strap it too! On the bottom of my ratchet strap I made there is a section of the ratchet that isn't being used and I will use that to secure it!

Finished Turfing...I will be taking the black vinyl off and painting though :) And actually I am happy it does not reach the bottom of the tray because it will make my job of attaching the casing easier to my ratchet!

dude its been out since 2008! I did a regular version even before that!. I got stuff. comes turfed and shipped for a benji, cant beat that.

I think about it for next winters project... for now I'll stick to me $4 Idea which should get the job done for a season.

why fix what ain't broke? at least you're legal. and if it works for a toehold then even better. you just asked so I answered. also mine is removeable so you can turf easier and or take it with to another ski whatever. plus there is still room for some other stuff like rope etc.
