Fire extinguisters don't float

I think in some states you are required by law to try and help another boater in distress. If you see somebodies boat on fire and do nothing about it because you dont have an extinguisher you could face some serious penalties....

That is not a State law, that is maritime law... You own a vessel, you are required to come to the aid of other vessels unless it puts your vessel in harms way...

yeup,a fountain would help extinguish another boat perhaps.
the only problem with sinking your own boat if on fire is if the tank is ruptured,then you surround yoursef in burning gasoline.not an enviable position to be in.
that stuff is fierce on water specially considering you would be wearing your nylon life vest(right?)hmmmm!
