First A/M freestyle hull…. Help

+2 on the well built AM hull with a reliable piped 701 setup. Cheaper, less maintenance, very capable. You’ll have way more tray time and still have a ton of fun.
You’d be surprised what a built 701 in a nice light hull is capable of.

What are some options you would recommend? There’s a hurricane for sale fairly local. But I completely agree I just want something simple and reliable built around a nice hull. A tigercraft would be my ideal machine a little more pricey without going overboard but haven’t heard anything bad about them.

Like other people said you’re best off going to a ride and trying as many skis out as you can. Everyone prefers something different and it’s hard to do any hull justice over text. All of your big name manufacturers make awesome skis you just need to figure what riding style you’re looking for and what you like.
I haven’t ridden a Hurricane so I can’t comment on them specifically.

That’s a very handy chart thank you! Yea I gotta get out to a couple free ride days for sure. I’ll be keeping an eye out for a nice complete hull to come up for sale!
 
Is a full carbon lightweight comp hull really ideal for someone learning to flip? I just feel like its going to break a lot and a sizable time and financial budget will be needed for repairs. Just curious because i dont really know.

This is for sure something to consider.
 
Carbon has no benefit to someone who doesn't compete or isn't at competition level. The negatives outweigh the benefits if you can't outride a glass hull. Which 99.9 percent of riders CANT.

I can shred my xfr with a 701. I can almost plate flip. Plate 360. Plate barrel rolls. Turn sub. Do shallow jump subs. Huge inverted stabs. I can spin to the front. And I've log rolled it a time or two also. I put a 1100 in it. And can do all the same. It's just alot easier to do air tricks. And harder to do old school tricks.

You could learn to ride a spoon. Get a well built reputable brand ski. With a b piped 701. And ride
