See that's more what i was looking for.... little bit of support. Everyone and their dog knows a sj is lighter and more nimble, not very hard to figure that out... and i know it's gonna be more difficult on a sxr, but why not try... It's the challenge and fun i'm looking for.

how bout this, haters, buy a brand new super Jet, pull the motor out and sell it. Then buy a brand new SXR and pull the motor out and sell the hull. Then, put the SXR motor in the super jet hull. has any body done it? NO?! Ha! then do a back flip can can barrel roll landing on one leg. nothing is impossible with a bottomless wallet.

Agreed about the bottomless wallet thing. I honestly think that with enough hard work and blood and guts and nutz, you can pull off some serious stuff on a stock SXR- short of any flatwater tricks. But launching off waves or wakes, I have seen some people pulling rolls, nose stabs, etc. I am sure that with enough prep, and the right conditions, someone out there can pull off a backie on a stocker too. Granted, it'll take a lot more work than trying to do it on a SJ, but it's not impossible, I'm sure.
I like my SXR, and am very happy with it. Sure, I'd like a SJ too, but I have a heckufalotta fun with my SXR regardless. I run a lot of buoys and am working on my rolls...want to pull one off in Daytona by next year. Ski is all stock motor.

I first tried bronco 180s (nose stabs without a wake) about 1 month ago... until last weekend I was about to call it impossible and give up... but all it was was learning the right technique... now I can do them sloppy all day long... I still need to refine it... but an added plus is now I have no fears about trying barrel rolls, and by learning the bronco 180s I now have an idea of how to practice the barrel roll...

I tried my first roll last weekend off a boat wake, but only got about 1/2 way around... this weekend we will see....

if you have not already done so, learn the bronco 180 or just a regular nose stab first and it will give you more of an idea of what you have to do IMO... you may think its impossible at first, but if you keep trying and trying and watching videos to try to learn technique and copy... you will get it...

I have learned tons of stuff from watching all the videos on www.superjett.com, www.jetskee.com, wamiltons freestyle volume 1, rippen freestyle instructional video, internet videos, reading all the how to threads on here, and trying to get out on the lake with more experienced riders...

Very good points. Some of the stuff on an SXR is a little different to learn that on a sj, but I think Frosty will back me up on this one. He is an awesome SJ rider, but can not do anything close to what I can on a SXR. I cannot do squat on a SJ, not even half a BR, but have landed one on an SXR. Granted off a boat wake. From what I can tell, it would be easier on a SJ than an SXR, but it all depends on how much ride time tou have on each. I wish I could afford both also!

I've got the nose stabs down pretty good off boat wakes right now. Started messing with the broncos too, but I am not getting a full 180...more like a 115 or 135 and then subbing it. It's all in the lift/push, I have found. As far as the rolls go, I am only getting 1/2 way around and that's off some pretty small wakes. I have a feeling with more surf time I'd be able to pull one off. I may break my hip doing it, but dammit, I'm gonna do it!! :grumble:

I've made it over 1/2 on flat water with no set up wake, just a pre hop. Never 3/4 yet on flatwater, my set ups suck real bad, I have taken a few lessons on set ups but, agggh.....

My setups are not the greastest either, I have learned that speed is very key because it gets you up in the air. Its just a matter of turning the scared switch off and getting over the side of the ski. I'll have it down by the end of summer I hope. I am a little past half way.

SXR-Forever tried a few last year on his ski and got a couple 1/2 rolls, I was told he went out last weekend and rode a buddies SJ with a big bore and a pipe and rode one out. Somehow he is still not convinced to go SJ.

i agree... i cannot ride an SXR to save my life... i feel like i'm on a barge. But Brian somehow manages to really crank that focker!!! he'll be rollin this year for sure...
