I feel your pain, I tried the shread ready on and it was tight (big head). They have WRSI helmets that come in sizes and they were like a glove. The Giro, when I weighed it in the shop was only .25 pounds lighter than my dirtbike helmet, so I don't know.
They have that little rubber U shaped plug to stick in there to stop the rattling. My GoPro2 never came with it. I bought a flat lens case for Scuba that did. I use the old case with the plug for skis and it is fixed. I also remember hearing you can stick a couple pieces of electrical tape on the mount before you snap the GoPro into it, but I never tried it personally.
