Bummer for Stone, he remains the flat water freestyle GOAT. Congrats to Gomez, he deserves it. The guy has given the most to this sport for the past 5 years.
So, we’ve seen the Doubble on flat. Doesn’t seem to long till we’ll hopefully be seeing a triple in the surf. Anyone with me here?

This is what I heard.I am gonna say he was probably so frustrated that he chose not to go to post tech. They usually tech top 5 This can get you an overall DQ.....

I think after Lee's run it just kinda got in his head...... They had been racing to see who would do it first...... I liked that Kid last year. He was on fire and so nice when I met him.Watching him last year and watching him do his double before competing makes me wonder what happened to him this year. He looked so out of it. Maybe banning the tether reduced the wow factor in his tricks and just was same old as everyone else? Figure with as low as he scored it wasn't just me who didn't see him riding as well as he has.
I agree though, I think he is the biggest rider out there that can give Lee a run for his money
Its never gonna happen on a skiThe triple backflip has been done on a dirt bike. Travis Pastrana called in every nutcase dirtbike guys and physics guys he knew. The ramp was roughly double the size of one it it took for a double. Out of all the guys only one or 2 guys tried it and one actually made the trick. For this to happen in surf you would need monster waves and super high speed. I’d be worried about landing it or not landing it. They had a blow up cushion for practice with dirt bikes and a ramp that doesn’t move.
I’m not saying it’s impossible but the same as the dirt guys 99% of them didn’t see the reward in the risk. Also it’s a trick that’s never been done in competition.
