so what is the correct starting point for a single 44 on the low Chris? I'm confused. it pulls amazing but I think from just off throttle to 1/4 throttle could be better but I didn't want to mess with it.

The starting point is 2 turns for the low for a single 44 setup. (1 turn starting is for a dual 38 setup, which is what Blue was thinking you had.) This is just a suggested starting point, and you should to tune it in from there. Tune toward richer first, then back toward leaner if needed.

Set the bottom adjuster on the trailer at idle. Just close it until the engine revs up then open just enough to slow it back down, the mixture will be very near perfect. The screw can end up anywhere from 1/2 to 2 turns out depending on popoff pressure.

seems to run best at just under 1 turn. this motor just makes me happier every time I run it! guys up on the river this weekend were amazed at the power it makes!
