First time buyer, is this a decent ski?

Hey guys, been lurking for a bit now and shopping Superjets like crazy after selling a bone stock 750sxi. Ran across this and wanted some input on what all has been done. Here is the info from the add:

1996 Superjet
Engine rebuilt and bored out to 760 with roller cam and ADA racing head.
Factory B pipe.
Blowsion foot holds.
Wamiltons padded tray
Hydro turf rails
Blowsion water box
Ultralight and spring loaded aluminum handle pole with straight bars (looks like the PLD Pole)
Blowsion aluminum throttle
Blowsion motor mounts
Shat trak prop
D cut ride plate
Front Tubbies

Can you guys give any insight based on the mods? I am wanting a reliable ski to play around on a pond on my property and take to the lake with us for some boat chasing.

Looks decent....BUT check compression, post photo of engine bay

And I really want to see a pic of the roller cam!

Edit: Below austin and $3500 obo. Looks like some room to talk him down which is nice. Check compression.

I've ridden that ski back when it was owned by another member on this site. That was back in probably 2009-2010. It ripped back then and doesn't look like it has changed much since. I'd definitely check compression and general condition.

And 2-stoke motors don't have camshafts.....

I have asked for additional photos, especially of engine bay, and he said he is out of town and will try to get them to me later. He did not have a compression # for me when I checked, just said that the engine was bored to 760 last summer, new pistons, crankshaft, and head.

Ask if it comes with Freestyle Sponges. Clean Ski, I remember it also, cannot remember who had it.

I would hold out. I wouldn't trust a damn thing the guy says after the roller cam comment. Lol

That list of mods is kinda boasted up with tid bitty stuff. All I see is a 96 superjet with a b pipe and ada head with a bunch of paint and stickers.

I don't know where your price range is but $4000-$5000 can get you a much newer clean ski.

Appreciate all the info. I'm wanting to stay at $4k or under and figured this one would give me some room for small changes etc.

On the flip side if you wanna stay low on cost pick up a square nose. Just saw a clean one for like 1700 on fb.

I know this is out of your range but just an example of what a little more can get you. If you start adding up the parts listed you soon realize how much is in the ski.

4k can get you more than the ski above if you hold out. Winter is comming, use this time to shop around.
