Fixed Steer FX-1 ?

that sucks about the broken parts man... makes me leery of trying new tricks lol, but its part of the risk we take. as far as the tipsy point, to a certain extent you want it to be a tiny bit unstable. makes it much much easier to toss around and make go where you want,

Well, I need broken parts. I have the good ones. I'm not cuting up a perfect hood and pole for this. If I don't like it, I can always go back in just a few hours. I need a broken RN pole and a narsty FX hood. I would think someone would have some trashed parts somewhere. But I know what you mean about finding a good SJ. BTW, mu buddies selling his RN for $2500.

I was thinking an fx1 conversion would be harder to stay on top of at high speeds with high fixed bars. I was considering a 650sx conversion until I moved the bars back on my x2. It went from a boat that I didnt like to one that's about to get a 750 installed.

There's no need to go fast on an FX-1 anyway, unles our looking for a nose full of water. FX's are way to unstable at speed. They are great for every thing else though. Especially once you do the pump mod like my yellow FX-1.

Johnny, first thing to learn about stand ups is it aint about speed. It's about ballance and skill. It's abourt riding with friends and pushing the limits of each other.

You will get the hang of it. But ride that kawi for a while till you can get your hands on a SN or older SJ. You'll never go back.

i meant the broken body parts from riding :p and abotu the speed was more thinking power for pop off of waves. the big reason i was talked out of going the 650sx route. glad to hear it aint about speed lol, i'm moving from the car world back to water for that very reason. just sick of the people. miss the days of 5 guys loading up on the wakesetter and pushing eachother to go bigger and harder and laughing and the good times that came with it :D

and if u werent all the way in texas that would be sweet. but going to wait at least 1 year. and will probably keep the 750sx around for friends, the gf, or whomever. always need a pair.

closin in on finishing the squarenose conversion and sxr conversion I can tell you why it never went down. Its a lot of work and fx1's are not plentiful. while the sx seems like a good idea I personally think it wont fly. except for a lazerjet I believe I have ridden all models of standups and a 650sx is not a bad riding machine but its far from light and powerful. if you really want to make it work then use a 550. now those are damn near free, take a bigger powerplant and are way light. If you can get a better pump that would be a fun ride. lol

I like the fx1 and a fixed steer would be cool. but I got plans to do up that hull right first. then maybe think about a conversion- maybe. Im ready to ride and more molds is not sounding like a lot of fun just right now.

BTW- way to dig up an old thread

I have to totally disagree with this post, I have a pic here somewhere of the weight of my ski, I believe it was around 275 lbs,not exactly what I would call heavy by any means , especially when you are comparing it to a Superjet, the stock 650 engine pushes it along nicely. This thing handles nothing like a stock 650 since the CG has been moved by a large amount. It also gets a ridiculous amount of air off almost no wake, several peeps here have ridden it, they can back up what I have stated here.
