650/X-2 Fixed trim

I thought about my previously owned HX with fixed trim so I made one for the X2. WOW. Game changer. I know I’m not the first but I seldom read about anyone doing this. I realize the X2 came with adjustable fixed trim but I ripped it off and trash canned it on my build so never rode with it. The ski is now a heavily modified 701 or now 735 or something engine. Running a 10/17 with no scoop grate. 47 mph ski. I notice significant changes in how the pump loads water with very little trim movement. Thought I’d share been off the X for some time.

Did I get permission from MOPAR to use that color. Long live the 701 !
I did have a scoop grate at one time but it pulled the 30 plus year old glue out of the hull and grate is at the bottom of lake now. I posted about that a while back. Personally I didn’t like it. It was like hitting the brakes backing off the throttle. With the fixed trim I’ve noticed the ski loads water better keeping a slight up trim. I could be wrong here but I believe it picked up a few mph. I ride flat water jumping boat wakes so the chop isn’t really noticed but when water is choppy it does hook up better.

I used a slop free linkage possibly from Rhaas. The rest I made. Once I found the sweet spot I haven’t changed it.

I just used the oem cable ends and a short piece of all thread. Tapped a hole in the rideplate for the ball end. Not completely slop free but works well and easily adjustable.
