fixing a gas tank

thats what I did...but I made the hole ever so slightly too large....if you wiggle it you can hear the air hiss...

I either need to drill it out for a bigger one, or epoxy the one into place....

Wrap 5 or 6 layers of teflon tape around the threads to tighten it up a little. This should get it sealed up. I drilled out an old tank that had broken nipples. I used the brass units with teflon tape and it has worked fine for months now.

No epoxy no duct tape :eek5: just look in McMaster for a bulkhead fitting and uses that with an o ring on the outside of the tank. Have a neighbor’s kid get his hand in the tank to start the nut or hold the fitting on the back side of the bulk head.

You should have said something at the beach last weekend...
I broke both the nipples off of mine not long ago. I got 2 of the brass fittings that are barbed on both sides, drilled out both holes, and 5200'd them in. They don't leak at all.
Mark44's Mcmaster fittings would look better though.
