Yeah tuckers the man met him at the aussie freeride thingo had a go myself on a carbon blaster with a 800 something nearly got around got some ty footage and some bad photos and swolled about 5 gallons of water trying but he told me its all technique (Thats my problem right there) and goota create your own wake but hes the def the man in the flat water .

why does everyone give credit to half rolls as rolls when talking couch? i dont get it.
the vid was an inverted stab, definetly an extreme move for a blaster, but DEFinetly not a roll.
wishful thinking doesnt get you 180 degrees rotation and a tail first landing!

Also Stanton yeah this roll was not plate to plate but damn I have seen dudes on pole skis do less of a roll on flatwater and claim a b roll lol. But this definately counts as one I say 3/4 in the air and 1/4 under water counts if you ride away from it. The rules should be loosened up a bit if your talking couches like that video of the sho going large in the surf was legit also.

pause the video, he is 1/2 maybe 5/8 around when the nose and looks like his head hit the water. ask anyone what that is and youll get the same response. the rules loosened? why??

After pausing the vid I reckon its more to do with the camera angle, if the camera was on the other side it would look like a typical 3/4 nose down B roll. Hard to say but I call legit and big ups for the dude riding he is the man.

im with yamarider its not classic plate to plate stuff but the bar can be lowered a little until a few people are doing it. thats about where my rolls are on a sj !!! roll or inverted stab much respect for doing that on a b1 in flatwater

I think when you can do a flatwater full plate to plate roll on a blaster then you can look down your nose at a flatwater off his own wake 3/4 roll and rides away, and say it wasnt a roll. til then he is the man in my book.

a nose first half roll anywhere in the world is called a nose stab. you can claim whatever you want but until its plate to plate its just an attempt. if that ski is indeed only a 701 i dont see why it cant be done, just a foot more air and it probly would have been a roll.
the dude is ripping though, im blown away that he can even get that far, so dont take my disagreement for hating. i look at things in black and white, it either is or it isnt and that video ISNT!

That’s okay Tanman. Yes, I have a ‘97 roundie, ’94 b1, and a big Sea Doo. I prefer surf yet have to stay local more these days. When I am not riding, I am taking mega photos, so I am watching constantly as well, or hearing opinions about riding. I know Stanton from travelling to Cali the past few years, and he’s aware I’m razzing him regarding the B1, for wanting him to try to ride one (another thread), and just because he’s a good guy. Plus, I typically have a lot of humble opinions in general to be honest with you.
