flatwater day this year?

Buckwild12

I'm moved by DASA power!
I don't think we can legally beach the skis there thursday, but it is possible to ride from the boat ramp to the surf and back. I am looking forward to a little flat water ride though. I wanna see how much difference my new thrust trim system makes.

yes it is a little bit further to drive but its a lot safer there than at the other spot. yes you can ride infront of the hotel as long as you ride 50ft off shore and watch out for the surfers before the event. as far as launching off the beach that up to you. Last april a few people launched from the beach with no problems.

Yup. I launched and didnt have any issues. Just pushed the cart right down the boardwalk and had at it.

so the flat water spot is going to be at Portsmouth city park, 140 City Park Ave. Portsmouth, VA 23701 is the address to the park.

Any questions post up here or pm me for details.

Like Steve said, this new spot is further away, but it looks like a much better setup than the one at 64th street. Technically at 64th street everyone was in a no wake zone on the beach area, this looks like a better spot for spectators as well as riders.

Looking forward to it!

most of the canadians wana ride flatwater thursday - but to drive 45 mins each way after a 14 hour drive might make it so it dont happen

All of the wny guys will be coming in Thursday morning too . I think Xeon may try to get ahold of you guys if you want to convoy down! I can't wait to ride!!!!

you guys are more than welcome to use the old spot. Just keep in mind the cops are all over that place. The place I posted about is nice and pretty much cop free. There is another spot that is a little closer, all interstate driving, its about 25 minutes from the hotel but no where as nice, If interested I can post up about it.

We will be down there and going to flat what on Thursday. It 20 or 25mins from the hotel maybe noon time Thursday we can meet at the hotel and roll down?

Time to bump this thread. There are pros/cons to each spot

64th st- Pros: Close by, nice beach to land skis on
Cons: No Wake, Lots of police presence to enforce no wake, $10 launch fee
(2 pros, 3 cons)

Portsmouth City Park
Pros: wide open ride area, open spectator/family/friend area, no no wake zone, free launch, Fusion1977 has set up 2 boats for v-wake (I must still confirm this with him, or he will chime in)
Cons: about 20miles from oceanfront (however, there will be no traffic backup midday)
(5 pros, 1 con)

Personally, I will probably be at Portsmouth City park for the reasons listed above. All are welcome to ride at 64th, but I see p-town as a better option...

What do you all think?

main con for most of the canadian crew is that we have driven 14 hours to get there, will be arriving thursday morning and driving another 20 miles to go to water that is just as wet a few blocks away makes no sense as we will be mainly tuning skis

there are around 15 of the canadian crew coming and i believe most will be at 64th street, the $10 is worth the locality
