Flatwater sucks

I haven't been on the river in 2 months now. In fact, in the last two months I went riding only for one weekend at the Oregon coast.

I figured I'd see a bunch of boats out today to go chase.
The launch ramps were zoos.
People don't know how to back up a trailer.
They have absolutely no etiquette.
The water was choppy as hell.

I cruised for about an hour and left.

its like that in cleveland most of the year. the only days that you dont have to deal with douche bags is when we get big wave days and all the a$$holes with thier $50 craigs list fishing boats stay home.

I haven't been out on the water since you made the papers with your infamous backflips.
..I haven't even checked the popoffs on my carbs...Jesus I can't wait for this term to end.

I don't mind the flat EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE as long as I'm carving through the reed trails at the Colorado river on my SXR . I can see how it could get old pretty quick though. Once you get bitten by the surf bug though, everything else is weak. The surf is a free riders crack!

We never did get any footage of us riding our spot but heres some kayakers testing the waters in the same spot. Launch above the bridge where its calm and it gets fun a couple hundred yards after the bridge for about a mile until it widens and narrows. We could only ride for a few weeks right in early spring when the runoff raised the water height 5-6 ft and brought the water speed up to 38mph. The only problem with starting the season off like that was riding flat the rest of the year really sucked.

i rarely go to flat water even for testing. seems like such a hassle to load up and go out just for that. so when i'm testing or breaking a motor in it's pretty much always in the surf. so last weekend the superjet was finaly fixed and running great (had problems last few times out) and i broke the pole about a couple hours into the day. the surf is fun but it sure takes a beating on the ski! but man is it worth it! just waiting on my waterdawg pole now.

no doubt, its been flat here for more than a month, and everytime i go ride flats im bored in 5 min and wonder why I even went. Id love to ride some rapids in the dog days of summer when its flat

Us mid-western people have too far to drive to get surf, so we're stuck on flatwater.

It's not all that bad. I practice my various tricks in between boat chasing. So far I've gotten real good at the turn-sub and the fountain. Need a better engine to get air for tricks like subs and what-not.

Spoiled rich kids!!! :jester:

yeah up here we have great lakes, and luckily a few local wakeboard boats that will kick up a fat wake while the wake surf. works out best for us all :D
