The reason I ask if that I just took out the Chinese stator and put the oem orig back in and am about to put the cover on.
And the oem paper gasket which I believe is manufcturers original has a thin line of gray liquid gasket stuff on both sides (dry now) which looks too thin and even to have been applied by anyone but the factory.
I filled the engine compartment up with water to about 6 inches last Saturday to check for leaks at the intermediate shaft.
Tonight when I took the flywheel cover off, water had definitely intruded. White aluminum oxide had already started growing. And there were a few droplets still in there.,
