That's an excellent idea. Just using the regular harmonic balancer puller is a pain in itself so getting rid of that would be worth it IMO. No more fancy ghetto rigging to make the puller sit on the crank properly. Well worth $40.

One thing to think about is the guys with total loss flywheels. If you're going to sell them, might want to make sure the hardware is long enough to reach the threads on an MSD flywheel since those flywheels taper instead of being flat like the stock one. Also might want to save money with regular steel hardware instead of more expensive stainless that shouldn't be needed unless you're abusing the tool.

Very nice Butti,

How about changing the outside profile slightly so it could double as a Coupler removal tool? It could work for older 3 finger couplers anyways...just a thought.

edit...nevermind, you'd still need something to hold the crank from turning so you wouldn't be any further ahead. :banghead:

Great idea but can you make it more like the universal pullers with multiple holes and I'll be sold.

i dont think the desighn can be easily adapted to be "universal" but i am interested in what other models have the same bolt pattern on the fw.

i am also interested in any other models that this idea could be applied to such as sitdowns and jetboats where space is limited.

i would like to expand on this in the future by adding a few different hub tools and assembling a mechanics kit that would work on a range of models.

right now my only objective is to make the best possible tool for 6m6 style flywheels.

btw thanks to everyone for all the feedback and positivity

Just slot the 2nd hole and it will fit a range of hole spacings

make the 2 bolts captive so people dont grab longer bolts and ruin their stators

Great idea! I made something similar that I use all the time (works on 550's and 701's with a handle welded on). The puller has a fine thread on the center "puller" bolt, less chance of stripping with more pressure on the center (grease it every time it's used, never had a problem).

That would go nicely in the "beach" tool box. Like it!

If you slot the outside holes it would work on the kawi skis.

This is one of those tools I could make myself, but I would rather reward the person who came up with the idea - especially since the price is so reasonable!
