Foil boarding?

Thinking about getting a foil board since my boat doesnt make a huge surf wake like new surf boats do. Anybody have one? Any suggestions for a specific brand? Anything to watch out for? Would like to find one I can use at the beach as well as behind the boat.

No foil board here, but we do have a Sky Ski hydrofoil (aka AirChair). You don't need good wake behind the boat for it. SO MUCH FUN!!! It's not going to work at the beach, although I wonder how safe a foil board is at the beach anyways given the hardware below the water. Maybe a regular surf board would be better for the beach?

Check out Armstrong foils. Slingshot is the most common one I see for wake. Watched a guy on my lake ride the second wave of a direct drive ski boat no problem. He was 75ft back just cruising through choppy water pumping to switch sides. Dudes are throwing flips and rolls with these things. Superfreak creator Tem seems to have caught the bug too. I'm hoping to see superfreak foils soon.

I have air chaired once before didnt get enough seat time to get good. I see lots of guys playing with foils especially kiteboarders at the beach. Just have not seen anybody in my area with a board I could try out.

If your new to it I would say get the flight school system from slingshot. They have different sized masts. Trust me when I say u will want to start out with a shorter mast. Makes learning curve way faster. If your gonna just ride wave behind boat you will also want a slower foil. They are a ton of fun

Bought a new wakeboard today, I guess I want to know when I started leavin my nuts at home? Feel like I have lost my confidence to go wake to wake.

No worries easy cure for that just shorten rope abit until u start landing your jumps out in flats then let out abit at a time. I used to ride at 70 feet behind boat but when I first learned a tantrum I went back to 45 feet. Just food for thought. Cheers

Yeah i bought a nice new wake rope too. I brought it in to 60 ft and started to feel better but i think landing and hitting my head has got to my head. Helmet on the way hopefully a bit of gear and more board time will get me feeling more confident
