Freestyle Foot holds help/question

So I have a 94' FX1, the one re done in my picture. When I redid the ski in the winter I just layed down regular hydro turf and didnt install foot holds. Now that I'm starting to ride more, I'm starting to regret this haha. I wanna put some in but don't wont to replace turf.

Is it possible to carefully scrap out this turf, sand off glue, and install some foot holds, then re apply it back on. I have some extra turf left over still so molding the under neath wouldnt be a problem.

Also, the FX1 side rails look very thin, is there a certain type of foot holds that are good to use on these rails. Any thing will help, thanks

You can still buy lifters and stick those directly to your sides. They are semi hard, about 2 inches wide and a foot long and about an inch thick. There may be a member on here that has an old set laying around. Diffidently old skool but would save that new turf till this winter. And the Jersey boys (special fx,etc) have some cool azz variations on footholds! Check some of their threads out.

Pretty much what ^^^ he said. If you want a quick fix, you can install a couple of foot straps and use those for the rest of the season, then when winter comes do a foothold install.

But make sure you install them correctly, you don't want wet foam.

I have extra turf laying around so when i cut, replacing wouldnt be a problem, but also will the wedges stick directly to the turf? I feel like they would unstick very easily.

I have lifters installed in my 2010 sj. They work great! I put them on until I can put footholds in this winter. I would go with the lifters then get footholds and install them this winter. I am pretty sure you will have to replace your new turf if you decide to put in footholds. My lifters are just glued on with Dap weldwood contact cement. They have lasted all season so far.
