Foot hold type/Style has always been a personal preference thing. That being said, I have always hated the pre-manufactured, drop in style foot holds because once they're in, you're really limited on how you can stand in your tray. The placement you choose has to fit every type of riding you do, not to mention they extend into the tray, cluttering it up and making it feel really narrow and impossible to sit in. A much better set up is the All Around Tray holds. With All Around Tray holds during the course of your riding, you can change your feet to any kind of stance required, side to side, surf, even regular or goofy. Plus it feels like you widened your tray by 6 inches down low where you need it but still allows for ankle support up top, where you need it. Also another advantage is you don't have to buy any expensive premade molds. To make All Around tray holds, you simply cut out the glass on the inside of the tray and carve your footholds into the already existing foam. All you need to buy is the cloth and resin to re-glass after you've carved out your holds.

Some dude I was talking to was skeptical, saying that it is hard to lock in these type of holds. He was correct if you're goal is to do one footed tricks. If that's your goal too then this set up may not be for you because this type of hold works by locking in both feet at the same time. But when you do lock in both feet, your rock solid, I've never had any problem getting upside down.
