get dry booties attached to the suit if it doesn't have them already and wear thick wool socks in them. I use a 1 size over normal set of Asics in the winter so I can get the wool sock and dry boot into them. dry feet in wool socks are very comfortable.
I use a pair of seadoo shoes that have a 3mm sock built into them and also wear a pair of 2mm socks before I put the shoes on for a full 5mm of coverage. I've used this setup far below 40 degrees and it works well.
Christmas Day I used 2 pairs of thin 1 mil socks and some crappy jetpilot zip up dive looking booties (3 mil) and it was great. Before that I was using just those socks and asics and my feet were frozen. 5mm thick should do the trick
I wear 5 mil booties with a wet suit. Water is 42 right now and I do alright in it. I don't stay in the water too long nor ride for hours but works for me for a couple of hours of riding
