Titanium is great stuff for strength and weight savings. Its been used for hardware, subframes, footpegs, exhaust etc on dirtbikes for a long time. But do you know how well the titanium hardware holds up against galvanic corrosion when exposed to salt water and used with dis-similar metals?

Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance similar to stainless. The galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and it will also be similar to what we are used to seeing with stainless and aluminum being dissimilar metal. It is important to use a thread locker like lock tite to help keep the water out.

Yeah I kinda figured. I know stainless has different grades and resists rust accordingly. I don't know a lot about titanium but I've never seen or heard of a cheap grade of titanium.

I'll try to get some pics today of the titanium bolts and more of our progress. Hopefully we button this up today and can get a rtr weight of it. When we loaded it onto my truck it had everything but chamber and waterbox, tank and water lines and it felt pretty Damn light!

It's going to take a lot of fancy Titanium bolts to make up for that heavy arse pole! :nana:

Ski looks great Tom. Waiting for a ride report & trying to figure a weekend out to run over and drop of an engine for some PHP love
