Ford not warranty rear end

I know I've seen it on here before, but be careful those of us that don't have trailers. I have been dunking my truck to launch my ski for forever and ford is not warranting my rear end due to water in the dif. Happy launching. Be careful

Ouch. I too am a back the truck in and slide the ski out kind of guy. This is concerning. What year is your truck, and how many miles?

2011 f150 with 60k. It's from being hot then hitting cold water and the metal contracting sucking water through the vent. If you check your fluid every once and a while I wouldn't be too concerned. But I'd start not if you aren't already.

When your get to the water take a 10 minute brake drink a beer last look over on your ski or what ever, I'm not a rear end specialist but when you drive the rear end brakes ext get hot when you back in everything sizzles cause it's so hot from driving, give it a few minutes to let it cool down before you dive in the water. to avoid warping seals brakes ext.

I just changed my rear end fluid and everything was dry

Just my .02 but what do I know

2010-2014 f150's have been having alot of rear end issues. Especially eco-boost trucks. Id do some research online and ask for a meeting with the district service rep with ford. Ive gotten lucky so far with mine but i can seriously count on 2 hands of how many people i know that have had issues. Do you have a 3.73.

No you're absolutely right, I'm the worst offender I get to the lake and just wanna dunk my ski instantly.

Yup 3.73 ecoboost. I'm appealing the decline right now. Hopefully it all goes well, and yes I have done some research on this matter.

You gotta stop dippin that SJ.

Buy a beach cart and your problems are solved. Water is bad for any mechanical item made of metal. I love the guys who think fresh water doesn't cause rot etc..... I've seen uglier fresh water skis then my salt stuff.

It's all about maintenance because water is bad mmmkay?

Good luck with that. I'm still waiting for my settlement from 1992. Until that check comes in, I won't even let a Ford turn around in my driveway much less park in it.

Who the F**k builds a 3/4 ton 4X4 truck with a 460BB, Dana 80 rear axle and then lets it off the assembly line with a Dana 44 1/2 ton front end under it? Ford does, that's who!!

Yeah I hear ya man, its just negligence. I just need a trailer would be easiest for me.
And I don't have salt water near by, but I wouldn't dip my truck in salt water either. Well not any water any more. Just hope some can learn from my mistakes is all.

Happens to the best of us. I have to get my truck rear rims wet twice a year when I drop the boat in and remove it. Makes me angry.

For the ski I use a beach cart and hitch hauler. Let the hauler rot... I can build another cheap. Beach cart can't rust since its aluminum.

First a cone jumps out at your ski and now this happens. Tough luck my friend, why not invest in a small trailer? Parking issues?

Ha well the cone was a mistake and yeah no room for a trailer or I would have one.
And yes I don't like to dip my truck either but if you ride alone, unless you're a monster you aren't loading that thing by yourself.

i ride solo, i launch with a beach cart, ski goes in the truck bed.
If I had 500 to spend on a nice beach cart then yes it's possible. I currently have other important expenses. But since I have this rental for the time being. It's gettin dipped for sure haha
