We dont really ride at Joe Pool or Lake Arlington and the other one (Mountain Creek Lake) is not a recreational lake. It is a reservoir for a naval station and is too poluted.

Thanks, I have been looking at places on Arlington/by one of the launches. The wife would be working in Dallas, while I would be in Fort Worth so just browsing central locations. Should know something in the next few days :)

Arlington is a cooling lake. You can boat, fish, and ski on it but 'no swimming'. The reason is the lake is so warm in the summer because of the power plant that a dangerous amoeba has been found in the water. Basically, hit water hard, water can be forced past membrane between nose and brain, amoeba eats your brain. By the time they figure out what you have, you're dead.

Read this. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naegleria_fowleri

So it's fine if you just fish or canoe. The actual chances of getting ^^ that are super low. I've ridden there many many times, mostly to test and tune, cause its close. But now that I have kids, it's useless to me.

Also, this is a view they don't show you often.

Ive always been told no swimming due to the under current from the water treatment plant and that lake is a lot cleaner than it use to be. There was a time when any kind of water sports werent allowed. Fishing, skis, tubing, etc.

All warm water has some form of bacteria.

Took me a second to get what your talking about lol.. This far south, we rarely have ice on the roads. Not sure if anyone's making the trip down there this year.

Ya we were loading skis last night in the snow.
