FPP differences

I've got two pipes and trying to figure out if there is any difference between the two. Also trying to figure out which one I should run.

The black and gray pipe is an actual Factory B pipe head. It's got a standard 42mm bore and was in this boat when I got it. The black pipe is a Mariner Factory pipe for a 750 that was never used but bored to around 46mm.

Minus the paint, bore, and name I can't see any difference between the two pipes.

They are the same head pipe. Mariner and FPP had some deal back in the day. I got a FPP Kaw 650 pipe once and the instructions were by Mariner yet the head pipe had Factory Pipe machined into it. On those 750 mod pipes, they used ot come with Mariner manifolds.

Just like the FPP Kawasaki and Yamaha head pipes, they are the same with only slight differences. I have seen many FPP head pipes that had two screws, three screws, water fittings in different places, more/less on the flange thickness, ect...

They will all work the same. I'd personally run the 46mm opend up head pipe. Then again you can have the 42mm head pipe bored out. Check the screws, and if you get them out, antiseize them!

Sounds good. Thanks man. I actually have one of those two screw Mariner pipes in my 750. It looks different and only has a middle and top screw but runs great so I won't complain.
