Here's a stupid question, but I have to ask it. To participate in this do I have to donate. I am a broke student teacher (no pay until June) but would love to ride. I'm local in San Diego. Let me know because I would like to try out the surf on my superjet or blaster. I hope I didn't offend anyone by asking this (I know its for Joe's medical bills). Thanks guys.

It's still up in the air whether I can make it, but I'm trying. I just realized that it is a three day weekend that weekend, so that'll be nice. How the turnout so far? How many donating riders will there be besides the main teacher type dudes?

At the risk of sounding like a dick here......I think it would be very bad form to show up for the clinic without a donation. I'm not the one who organized this....but I am one of the riders who will be there to offer advice and instruction. This is a special situation for all these world class riders to get together at once and offer their time and expertise in the name of a good cause.

If you want to ride oceanside.....there is a group of us that is there every weekend. Trust me, I would NEVER discourage someone from riding with us under any other circumstance. Ask anyone on this board, or anyone who has met us at the harbor, we LOVE to get new guys out in the surf....and we love to help them learn.

Want to get that blaster or SJ in the surf? Do it.....come on out.....but Sat the 24th sounds like a better time for a first appearance.

No problem guys. In fact, the freeride superjet that I just bought from Raymond Barre' is a very unreliable boat, so I wouldn't even be able to make it back to the harbor (big mistake). I'll try the blaster out sometime near in the future. No harm, no foul on asking about the 17th, right?

You are more than welcome to come and ride with us any time. But this coming weekend, we have pros coming from hundreds of miles to help raise some $$ for Joe. These guys are diggin into their own pocket and donating their time to do what they can for Joe. As far as I am concrned I feel like $200 is a hell of a bargin to be able to not just ride with but recieve personal one on one instruction from some of the very best guys in the world. (Tell me who better to learn from than Taylor Curtis, or Randy Laine?) And as far as not making it back to the harbor...you will fit right in with us then .

I would be more than happy to try and help you sort out that boat you bought from Ray, as would he I am sure. I know that ski and you have a good boat.

You or anyone else interested in this event, feel free to call me 858 405 9445. If it is $$ issue for you guys, I will find a place for you to stay here. If you don't have a ski, Matt Smith has offered up his spare ski, and so has LBE. If we have more who can't bring their own skis, or don't have one running and want to attend I will have mine finally finished and ready to ride, I would gladly offer that up to someone willing to donate $400 to Joe.

This is an incredible opportunity to improve yourself, make some new frineds, and HELP JOE. It is $200 minum donation...hell the last time I spent $200 all I had to show for it was nasty case of the crabs :bigeyes:

so i just wanted to know a few details here;

i know we will be riding the base...are you allowed to go up on the beach there??..if not what will we do for gassing up etc??

i take it we will be launching from the harbor so im assuming we dont need our totes??

and i was just curious on where we will be riding...is a it a beach break or a reef in a little deeper water?/

you're really not supposed to go on the beach. usually after 1 1/2 hrs of riding you're tired anyway. its only 10 min. ride back to harbor and gas up again.
