How many peeps are using a drypipe for freeride/freestyle, I got mine working much better today and it was really fun. I can finally get the boat to launch clean of the water with ease, but still need to prop down and bore the nozzle as its still going over 50mph.:scared:

well i had a riva dry pipe and hated it. it was hard to tune (4 me, i such at tuning) and it was hard to remove. the power only seem to hit at about half throttle. it didnt have much low end at all. i put a bpipe on and that solved all of MY problems. it is as smooth as a sewing machine. my dry pipe was very violent. it vibrated a lot.

but REALLY, it seems that if u can tune according to what pipe u have, then a dry pipe will be fine and u could put ur $$ towards something else.

I really like Kevin's setup. I loved my Speedwerx dry when I had it. Work with what you got The B-Pipe is NOT the greatest thing since sliced brap.

I guarantee a well setup drypipe such as Speedwerx or Type 9 will rip better than any B-Pipe.

I have type 4 pipes on both my skis. Wife has a speedwerx on one of hers and a type 4 on the other. If properly set up they aren't really that much trouble. We are pleased.

BUT:skull2:

If you don't take the time to line them up right, they will drive you nuts.:banghead:

That thing pulls so hard with the big carbs, I can't imagine porting it yet, soon as I get the prop/nozzle where I want it she will be killer.:woot:

So far I have ridden 2 skis that are similarly (I use that term loosley) set up compared to mine. One is a 701, 2nd bore, ported, stock carbs, MSD enhancer, swirl, ada head and TNT pipe, it makes more power all around and has better responce, BUT its ported and mine is not.
The second was a fresh 701, ported, B pipe (ported), head, MSD enhancer, 48 carbs, wamiltons built ski, the bottom end (right off throttle) was actually less than my ski but everything above 1/4 throttle had more pull than my setup. I think with some porting and maybe smaller domes this thing will make some great power.

Mine is a type 4 also. I'm new to surf riding but it has killer mid range acceleration. I dont see why i wouldn't be good for the surf.

I tuned mine with the ecwi disconected so you can feel when it comes on, otherwise the waters presence in the pipe give you a false feeling of the throttle chop. Runs great now.

I cant do tricks so maybee i should keep my mouth shut, huh?
