ah, cut him a little slack. he is new to the site seeing how that was his first post.

supermasterblaster, many people will argue who is best. call a few of the top dogs, they all do great work. my first call would be jetworks (949) 548-5259

XSCREAM!!! .... hahaha I have to be different. I have ridden a big bore jetworks motor and my 701 ported xscream motor and was happy with both. A bit apples to oranges but they are both reputable companies

I agree with both on this. My only issue is they always want to upsell you and make you feel as though porting alone will do nothing for gains and that you need this and that and this and that and that it is a package effort only kinda thing. While they are CORRECT in what they say, I still feel you can get gaines from porting with a common B-pipe / dual or single carb set up, correct domes in head or even a propperly milled OEM head and little to no other mods. I personally like to do things one at a time due to cost and to see what makes the biggest difference as you go.

So keep a price tag in mind and what exactly you want and stick to it and see who works with you the best. Again, everything the pro builders tell you is TRUE, but it doesnt mean its for you.
Add TJ (Tim Judge?) to the list also. He does incredible work as well/

That hasn't been my experience with Jetworks at all. He convinced me NOT to buy stuff I thought I needed on more than a few occasions.

Jetworks for sure... Art from jetworks ported my 61x cylinder with what exactly called a "surf port". If you call him be prepared to talk for a while. It won't be a short conversation. Awesome experience for me. I don't think I'll ever deal with another company.

And this time of year he might still be a little busy, but turn around shouldn't be bad. He gets a lot of international business.

That is awesome to hear. I am not saying they are incorrect and it may very well depend on HOW YOU DEAL with them and what your knowledge is.
A few years ago I simply wanted a Cylinder ported, I send pistons, unported Cylinder and head/ thier choice of domes. You send me back a freestyle ported Cyl. that will run 180/190 compression on standard stroke.

I got so frusterated with the process I went another route. Things change though.

Just out of curiosity, have any of your guys had any conversations with or work done by Steve Webster at Kommander Industries? I have ridden stock based motors for the last three years, and he has done all of them for me. But I don't think any of you guys ever use him for work. Just kind of wondering why...

I'd guess it might be a regional thing.....IVe never seen a boat on this side of the country thats been Kommander modified...........

I am very happy with my XScream ported cyl, manifold and head pipe...big difference !

and don't forget about good case porting/epoxied too.

Yep, regional factor prolly plays a part...

i picked jetworks and xscream out from this site. then i called them and Art talked to me for about an hour explianing everything he would do for my price range. xscream didnt answer their phone or they could of easly been my choice. and i understand eveyone gets busy but Art had me sold after talking to him. not to metion all the people that are very happy with their setup from him. i didnt hear much about Kommander till recently and i know there are dozens of others that have great setups. word of mouth plays a big role...

I thought about it a couple times, even talked with him about it. He does great work, and everything he has ever told me or sold has worked great. Doesn't he do most of Blowsions work?
