Here's another option for you.

For the 2K you want to put down on a new SJ (from the other thread) you could pick up a nice square.
Ride it, learn tricks on it, kill it, destroy it, all the while keep your eyes out for a creampuff round nose that you will cherish.

Once you have the RN of your dreams, sell the square on this site to vultures like me.

I sure there are way to lighten them. Aftermarket hood for starters. But the SJ already 60 lbs. lighter in stock form. It will take some $$ to drop 60 lbs from a SXR hull.

Super Jet
Length 88.2” x Width 26.8” x Height 26” Dry Weight 291 lb.

SX-R
Length 90.6" x Width 28.7" x Height 28.9" Dry Weight 351 lb.

IceRocket,

You are missing the point I was driving at. SXR simple cost more to Mod.
I owned a very nice 04' limited SX-R that I purchased new. I had to purchase new aftermarket part because there were no used parts available for a ski that was introduced in 03'. The money I spent for parts I for my SXR I could have equipped two superjet, quite easily.
Rear Sponsons 119.95 119.95
Super Scoop(TM) 189.95 189.95
27cc Dome (Superstock Only 185psi +) 96.50 193.00
28.5cc Dome 96.50 193.00
Limited Performance Kit 28cc-L 205.95 205.95
Kawasaki 750/800 Head Kit w/o Girdle 249.00 249.00
Yamaha Super Pump Cone 315.00 315.00
TBM Racing “Standard” SX-R Ride Plate 209.95 209.95
FP wet Pipe $675
Spring Tensioner $29.00
Pump Plugs $26.00
$2405.75
Yes it was my choice to buy TBM stuff, I could have purchase cheaper products but sometimes you get what you pay for too. All was trying to say is Your $$$ can go alot farther for a SJ

I didnt miss your point at all. I also agree sxr's are more expensive to modify, as i have said many times. Your few comparisons just weren't good examples, except for the pipes. you cant compare the most expensive sxr head to the average head for the superjet, or an ignition enhancer that has 1/4 the capabilities. Instead it should be either the most expensive mods compared, or the least expensive, not the cheapest of one and most expensive of the other. And we arent talking about when the sxr's were first introduced, we're talking about today. And we're talking about buying either ski brand new. When they came out, your absolutley correct because the market was so thin at the time.
