I should expand a bit on my reasoning of hull vs motor.
A quality aftermarket hull will cost roughly the same as a quality big power motor.
The motor will most likely need yearly maintenance, like rings & hone, and pistons every now and then.
You may need to run race gas and/or total loss.
If anything on it breaks, it is potentially very expensive.
A hydrolock has potential to bend that expensive stroker crank, putting you out of commission for a bit.
A quality, purpose-built aftermarket hull will need no maintenance at all. The potential to break anything on it is much smaller.
It's a "buy once and fuggedaboutit" purchase.
Now, I am not dogging nice motors. I am merely saying that if I had money or either hull or nice motor, but not both, I'd go with the hull provided I already had a motor I could drop in that a/m hull
