I got it all together and running but not till like 5pm tonight. I won't make it to Wavedaze but I'm gonna ride it Sunday so I'll have a ride report soon enough! I'm pumped for the Blowsion trim! I'll post pics Monday when I get to work.

Thanks!
Well I got the ski all together and running. Unfortunately I didnt make it to Wavedaze just because of small piddly shiot that took time and extra trips to lowes/home depot/body supply store. I bought a special paint spray gun with a 2.5 tip on it just for spraying gelcoat. When I mixed my first batch it sprayed out VERY poorly!! It was a tiny spray pattern and wasnt laying down at all! I tried another batch and same thing. I stayed up all night trying to complete this bodywork and get the gelcoat sprayed so I could get home from work and start the assembly process but it didnt work out that way. The gelcoat was coming out so slow that I literally fell asleep standing up multiple times just watching the gelcoat try and come out of the gun. It ended up hardening and geling in the gun almost like a mixture of epoxy resin and bondo. I bought more gelcoat from the store the next day and after fully disassembling my gun and literally drilling all the passageways with a drill bit to get the hardened gelcoat out I used acetone as a reducer and had only slightly better luck. The gelcoat sprayed much nicer but had the same "working time" before hardening. I was told to mix it thoroughly for 10 minutes otherwise the hardener wouldnt fully mix. That may have worked but it cut into my "working" time. Anyways enough about the gelcoat nightmare... I got the ski together and water tested it Sunday. The hull seemed to ride real nice but I didnt get to really test it the way Id like to. I have dual cooling on my big bore motor and had a water line fall off. I ended up burning a section of PVC (used for exhaust hose) and once that fell off it filled the engine compartment with smoke and choked out the engine. I was also taking on water and couldnt figure out where or why. Once I got home I discovered the water hose that fell off. It made perfect sense to me why I was taking on water and had an exhause hose burn up but the engine seemed to run ok. I also had some new ProK filters with prefilters and I think that may be limiting airflow because it seemed to run rich. Tomorrow during my lunch break Im going to fix everything and give it another try after work. That simple mistake is what I get for working on this ski so much with very limited sleep trying to prep for Wavedaze. Here are a few pics of the rear waterbox and also my lengthened water drain hoses from the hood to keep water away from the carbs.

It rides great and I am very impressed and happy with the results of this build!! You live right in Palm Coast so we will have to ride sometime and I'll let you try it out so you can see for yourself. I just ordered a Solas Mag pump and once I get the mag pump in that hull I will be assembling my billet Able 6mil stroker motor to go in this hull. I've had a roundnose SJ hull project for over a year and the more I ride and mod this B1 the less desire I have to ride any other ski.

The house is great! I moved here from New England so palm trees are a treat for me and the main thing the house needed was landscaping so I've been going crazy planting different types of palm trees all over :)
Let me know when you are ready to ride for sure!

So you use the foam as a template so you can fiber glass the rocker nose. What foam did you use. Was it a well wurth it project I want to do it but is there a company that makes a kit that will bee a lot easyer. And dose the stock fuel tank fit in it with rocker nose. Thanks

This ski is long gone but yeah foam is for shaping a template to lay glass on. Once you lay glass down and it cures you just flip the ski over and grind out all the foam then lay more layers inside to tie it all in. I used 2 part foam to do all that work. CarterB sells rockered nose kits and also tail kits on here. Hit him up if you want a kit to make it easy
