It dawned on me that there are a lot of trick names I don’t know and a lot of confusion on variations of the barrel roll. Maybe we need an index?

Barrel Roll = traditional trick where ski moves forward while tail rotates around the nose.

??? (I call these spins) = ski does not move forward much but tail rotates around nose. Common in big power FW freestyle.

Flat Spin = ski bottom stays parallel to water but ski rotates. Rider stays upright.

Scarecrow (I think?) = no hand, one foot roll of some kind. Idk if the name applies to backflips as well

??? = Backflip with two hand grab of front rail

??? = No hand backflip

??? = Backwards sitting on pole backflip

??? = Backflip on knees

there are so many more…. Post em up and I’ll update this first post.

"Barrel Roll = traditional trick where ski moves forward while tail rotates around the nose. " That description is more of a tail whip (What happens with backflip ski's try to do barrel roll. A true roll (On a SJ or 750sx/SXR) is there the ski does a roll along its axis.

"Flat Spin" = Helicopter

"Backwards sitting on pole backflip" = Tomahawk. Eli Kemnitz only one doing this trick that I know of.

Some tricks dont have an official name.

I’m curious too, for a barrel roll traditionally you turn your bars to 1 direction and roll that same direction. What is it called if you turn your bars 1 direction and drop your weight to the opposite direction? Like an “under roll”?
