Freshwater in SW florida

I moved down to south west Florida for the next few months, Fort Myers area. I've been looking to find some freshwater to ride in if possible lol, I'm from Michigan and all my college classes are virtual so figured might as well be warm lol. I don't really want to throw my skis in salt if I can avoid it. Or if there's anyone that rides in the area hit me up!

Ya it is gator or sharks . Best place in state is the monster hole at Sebastian inlet. But it's a drive for you but worth it . If your worried about the salt , flush it out after you get home and spray a silicone spray on motor and stuff to repel the salt . Once you go hit the surf you'll love it . Anything fresh water is brackish water and has gators and snakes . Hurts when you hit a gator , I know from experience, on a blaster1.

Thanks for the replies, I compete in flatwater freestyle, and don't really like the idea of throwing my comp DVX in salt water with an open MSD board, dual scuppers, plus surf would be interesting with a 900 on a flatwater ski I think lol... I'm just trying to get some riding in before I go back to MI. I think its worth not riding in salt on it for 2 months when it's spent its whole life and will continue to in fresh back in Mi.

Awesome! Have you ridden or ride Lake Manatee? I was thinking about making a day trip up there soon

Not sure what that means lol, not a common term in Michigan. Do you ride any freshwater or mainly surf?
I’m sorry they have a horsepower limit auto correct got me. I think if it’s above 15 horsepower it’s not allowed. We have some brackish spots which is basically salt free that we ride. Pm me or text me I got to find it but there’s a place around you that has tab, dirt bike tracks and also a big lake they aloud skis in

Lazy springs is fun. They had a bouy setup last year when I last went.
$20 for the day.
You can walk over and watch quads, sxs’, and dirt bikes for a nice break.
