Custom/Hybrid Front foot hold in an XFS

I was just looking to see if anyone has cut into there fire wall on an XFS, and made a foothold into the engine bay. I love my ski, I just hate that the tray is just a few inches too short. And I know I should of bought an XFR, but the price was right and I bought this. I am just contemplating cutting into the fire wall and building a front foothold, more like a toe hold. Or don't cut into a perfectly good Rickter and buy a new ski. Any feedback is appreciated.

I have a front foothold in my Superfreak and the ebox is mounted above it and still have an oem coupler cover below the foothold. Everything fits fine but not much room to spare. Superfreak probably has a shorter bulkhead and probably a lower tray... I'm sure I would fit but you may need to move the ebox brackets up worst case scenario

ScottS did a killer set up on an XFS where if was two footholds in the firewall, due to the top midshaft housing bolt location. With that setup the ebox was fine in its original location.

Pics of any xfs/xfr with a front foot hold would be awsome. The xfs/r is really tempting me after riding it. Just a bit nervous about getting my weight placement correct (front foothold would help this) and im a bit worried about the weight. Thinking maybe just reinforcing a xfs rather then taking on the weight of the xfr. No one seems to be able to answer the weight on either....

Were you guys discussing weight of XFR XFS?

XFS glass weight = 50-51 kilos without rideplate/chinpad
XFR glass weight = 55-56 kilos without rideplate/Chinpad
XFS carbon weight = 43-44 kilos without rideplate/chinpad
XFS Nynja is less

For everyone who doesnt feel like doing the conversion to LBS:

XFS glass: 110-112
XFR glass: 121-123
XFS carbon: 94-97

I did NOT know they were that heavy. I knew they were a bit heavier then other short aftermarket hulls but DAMN!!! Pretty much a deal breaker for me. My current surf fx with a ton of reinforcement and tubbies weighs 87lbs bare, 98 with a hood, underpad, and turf. I just cant see spending that much money to go up 25 lbs. I mean my former pink surf reinforced square only weighed 120.....
