SX/SXi/SXi Pro Fuel Injection for SXi??

Found this on CL. Never heard of fuel injection on a 2 stroke. Is that even possible?

Mechanical fuel injection, fairly common race mod back in the day!

its gonna be MRD fuel injection.i have heard good things about it,but FI absolutley sucks for freestyle.the fuel injection makes the intake a side draft instead of downdraft.the air filters will only sit a few inches from the bottom of the ski.

Also, the MRD system cannot adjust fuel mixture for engine load.
When you're coming off a high speed run and let off the throttle, carbs would close the plates and put very little fuel in the motor. Not with MRD - it's going to load the bottom end up with fuel.

But, very consistent metering for racing.
