Super Jet fuel selector question

riding at the beach last w/e my ski was running pretty bad. just by chance i happened to notice that when i switched the fuel selector to "off" it would start to clear up and run good for the two seconds before it ran out of fuel. "on" runs bad, "res" runs bad, switch it to off and two seconds of brap.

bypassed the fuel selector switch and ran line directly to carb and it ran better. being the curious type, rather than just switch out selector switch i would like to understand what was goinng on.

any ideas?

I would just get rid of the selector. I am pretty sure most people just bypass it and run directly to the crabs. You just have to check/know when you are getting low on fuel. Use the res. line from the tank as the one you run since it goes deeper into the tank and just block off the other one.

Its common for the fuel selector to have corrosion build inside it. You can pull it apart and clean it out fairly easily. Just use carb cleaner and run a drill bit that's the same dimension of the valve openings by hand. Blow it out very well with compressed air and your good to go.
