fuel switch delete?

I got a 13 superjet.

Installing a 3 way bilge switch cause i dont like the handlebar one
+
Takes forever to start so it needs a primer, got one! now im gonna install it this spring when i get the thing outta storage and i was wandering if i could just route the fuel lines from the tank right to the carbs and not include the fuel switch? i never use the thing, i only play around within 500ft of the dock.

that hole would make a nice spot for the bilge switch

If its not a good idea let me know

Yes. you can delete the switch and just run a single line to your carbs. extend the reserve pickup and use that as the feed for your primer. You will have to reduce the line down to 1/8"

If you run dual supply lines then you don't really have a choice but to delete it. I've removed them before and only once had to put one back in due to to low pop-off and tank pressure repeatedly lifting the needle off the seat and flooding the engine with fuel. Was really only an issue when storing the ski outside in the hottest days of the summer.

install the switch to you stock flushing hose mount and get yourself a reversible flusher from free ride innovations ;)

That is a great idea for the guys running hot hands kits!

I have no need for a flusher no salt near Ontario

And shouldnt i run the reserve straight to the carbs? that way i get to use the full talk of fuel and not just 3/4? or should i just run a Y bringing the on/res to one fuel line from the tank

How do these primer kits work? do they prime the carbs or prime the fuel line?

Removing the fuel selector...

Remove the selector.
Plug the reserve line from the tank into the carb where the out from the selector went.
cap the primary line.

Adding a primer...

Extend the primary line deeper in the tank (optional)
Remove the choke and install brass primer fittings
plug the 1/4" tee into the primary line, cap off the other 1/4" side, hook primer line to 1/8" part of tee
tee primer line to feed both carbs

Everything you need comes in the 2-carb kit, unless you extend you primary line, then you will need whatever necessary to do that. I personally wouldn't extend it, but you wont be able to prime when the fuel is below 1/4 tank.

Do you have a prop? JM sold a used prop to me for $75 and it was a great upgrade over the stock aluminum ones. Your ski may have a stainless prop but if it's the thick aluminum prop it's garbage. I bought a $300 solas prop later to match my pipe, head, etc, but the quality prop was one of the best upgrades on my stock motor setup.

Look into the pump tunnel. If your prop is more than 1/16-1/8" think, or obviously not stainless, you might want to consider an inexpensive used stainless prop temporarily.

The 08+ Superjet comes stock with a nice swirl impeller that works well with the stock pump. Changing impellers is not gonna give you much bang for your buck unless you add a bunch of power and want to change your pitch . Adding the B-pipe and modding the CDI will wake your boat up quite a bit without replacing the impeller.
