I think you should make the TV shows no matter what funding you get.....I truly believe that you could make an AMAZING vid with two HD cams, 1 tripod, one waterproof case, and an HD GoPro....
Make sure it has alot of action, is fast paced, has some girls and good fun beach vibe and no long boring interviews of talking heads that nobody cares about. Think of the demographic. 14 to 30 year old males. I think it would be cool to see some Standups on FUEL so I'll pitch in to get er done.

I do not believe that this is going to make Standups 'blow up' and turn into some giant cheesy NIKE sponsored poser sport like surfing turned into with a bunch of stuck up LocalsOnlyBrah douchebaggery. Although it might make a couple hundred more couchers sell their hoopties for some standups. (Kind of like the Freerides are doing). I have been to about 60 Freerides and met about 1000 standup riders and I truly believe that 99 percent of them are out to ride and have a good time, period. Basically, standup riding is still a cool smaller sport with a great vibe, especially at the freerides where everyone is willing to help each other out.

I took issue with the bolded part of the quote:

Truth be told, they're the only ones who truly benefit.

*Though I do have some reservations about our hobby getting any more exposure than it already has. Exposure brings more participants, resulting in more attention, regulation, and bans.

for what it's worth (we're beating a dead horse, lol) the word "truly" was used to imply that they (the companies) will not be the ONLY ones who benefit. but, as said numerous times by different people, they (the companies) are the true beneficiaries for the most part, was my only point.

In the end we decided to do Crowd funding to get the project off the ground and then look at sponsors on top. So looking at both sides (rider/seller) of the sport, not expecting either side to be responsible.

We figured if the crowd that loves jetskis doesn't want to see this product or buy it, then no one does. and that if that actually happened we would get a clear message that we are wasting our time. But we never expected that to be the case.
