Footholds or straps & you can flip in the surf... It just takes a decent wave with vertical face, hit it, look back & the rest just happens on its own.

My Buddy Idok has a F1 Pro that I would love to flip, just every time we swap rides he comes over before I find a decent wave

I have foot holds! :)
But is a stock engine and pump FX-1 able to do backflips? Doesn't it needs more power and a bigger pump?

You don't need big power, pumps, trim, to do backflips in the surf.. The Wave will do 50% of the flip for you

You need to be 110%, if you puss out its not going to happen... Backflips got to be the easiest trick, but take balls & someone willing to give it 110%...

You have to have the right surf, 3ft + surf with decent faces, you have to plan it right since you don't have brap to plan it late. Try to hit the wave when its almost ready to break or just starting, very fine line there... You gotta hit the wave, 1/4 idle up is not going to work... Once you leave the wave the ski is vertical & the nose will start to come around. Having you butt off the back like your man handling the ski also helps, throw your head back (Look back), this will help the ski come around ... When learning Backflips the head is very important, this helps your body get in the correct position & gets the ski rotating..

Its that simple.. Once you get use to them you can throw harder or Less, body position will change speed of rotation.

One of the best backflips I remember doing in the surf was with a RN, footholds, 701 B pipe... Was so big and really sticks out ....

But i mean a jetski that can "easly" do what other modern jetski do...
That FX-1, by the sound of it, i can tell it has some big changes...
The rider is going slow into the wave and in the last minute he goes full throttle and there seems to be no cavitation but you see a big hook up. And that's a big help for a rider...

i learned how to backflip and barrel roll on a bone stock fx1. landed good the first time i tried them. all it takes is good wave knowledge and timing. just sack up go for it and dont let go

when doing a back flip are you putting both feet in the rear footholds? i have front and rear foot holds on my fx-1. just curious on where to place my feet.

i sprained the crap out of my ankle 4 days ago so ill be out for a couple but ill be there soon to practice for Surf Slam. have fun and rip a flip! timing is everything. this is where you want to be with the wave pitch.
