FX-1 Fx-1 cutting hull up ?????

would there be any advantage to cutting the back tray sides off of a fx-1? Like what i see alot of guys are doing to sj's.

Besides wider tray? also if it possible to put holds down into the bottom tray glass instead of straps? Like putting them where ur feet point down at an angle into the hull?

Just questions, looks to be interesting is possible.

I just didn't know what the pro's and con's would be to have a flat deck.
I know it would help with a wider tray. Didn't know what the ride would feel like.

Dont do it!!! Just widen the tray instead. Try it like I did with my old 550. It was a sweet tray.

I like the sides for a little extra leverage, if you flat deck it and then install footholds you will probably not like it as much as just flat deck and straps. it will hurt less. if you are nervous- the go halfway, cut out everything but the outsides and a lip on the top to glass to. trim off as much as you can to the inside part and reinstall while adding footholds. making that 6 inch wide gunwhale into 3 inch instead.

cuttin down sides

i cut the sides down half way on my kawi sx and i love it man. my better with the straps and lighter. However you can cut to far on the ride side of your fx1 because you will run into your exhaust and have problems. We put footholds in my buddies fx and almost ed it all up good luck check my pics if u want on cuttin:rocketwhore:
