FX-1 FX-1 exhaust

Since i can't get my hands on a Factory B pipe and i don't see the Superjet gastank + B pipe to be a "clean" installation, i want to ask you guys what do you think of the Pro-Tec F series exhaust? http://www.ocperformancemotorsports.com/yamaha-fx1-exhaust-system.html

It's cheap for a new exhaust, is it worth it? Or are there better pipes? (freeride/freestyle)
Do i need new carb jetting when installing a pipe like this?
Will the pipe make a difference or it will just make the original pump to cavitate even more?... (and not having the horse power transfered into the water)

You would still need a protec manifold and jetting would need to be changed. This pipe hit pretty hard when I could keep it together. I blew couplers all the time and always found myself limping back to the ramp filling my bilge with exhaust fumes. I could never get it lined up very straight. I now run a 650 factory pipe on my 61x and like it. Makes great power and stays put.. Also, the exhaust ports on the factory 650 manifold match my 61x 701 better than the ProTec manifold does. Factory is just much higher quality piece. I know it's expensive but you get what you pay for. I'd hold out and wait for a used one to pop up.

hornedogg79, your pipe was blowing couplers because you couldn't line it up or because it wouldn't stay lined up straight?
Do you know the average price for the coupler and the jetting? If the total price is near the Factory B pipe, the Pro-Tec turns to a not gool deal at all...
The Factory B pipe comes with the barb jetting parts, right?

chadetroit, by molding the chamber of a normal Factory B pipe it will fit the FX-1 gas tank and engine compartiment? And that modification doesn't afect the performance of the pipe?

With a new aftermarket pipe do i gain hook up, or the original pump will cavitate even more and the hook up gains aren't significant?

if you do it right its cleaner than stock...and the tank allows MORE clearance for the pipe as compared to a superjet

no need to reinvent the wheel...save and search for a B

a few little dents dont hurt anything

mod pipe will fit with a stock tank

mod or LTD will fit with a SJ tank

ltd will always make more bottom end power, mod will rev out a little higher for top end...both will work good though

You wont gain any hook up without a top loader or a larger pump, and im not convinced my top loader even made a big difference. Youll just have more power when the pump does decide to grab.

EDIT - Im running a ported coffman sizzler, good value if you can find one.
