FX-1 FX-1 Impeller

Hi Guys

I'm just about getting ready to get my second FX-1 on the water, following an engine rebuild which includes fitting a factory pipe and a pro-tec head. I'm also running pro-tec plate and grate. I'm now thinking of getting an AM impeller to make the most of the extra power, could someone advise on the best type as I've little experience in impellers?

I'm about 190lbs and am mainly looking for bottom-end pull for freestyle use.

Cheers

...chaos? Its Fair!
It's going to be Hard for you to get a big bottom end punch with a stock pump in there. I would look into putting in a 144 instead of wasting money on a prop right now.

Living the dream.
Solas 17/23 is the lowest impeller you can get for the FX-1. (that I know of...) It is a significant improvement over the stock impeller.

Solas makes an 18/24 as well.

Solas made a 17/23, 18/24 and 19/25. mine came with a 19/25. I bought a new 18/24, thinking it would give me more bottom end. I was dissapointed, I figure, the motor and small pump can easily pull the taller pitch, hence the better overall performance with the 19/25. my ski pulls hard from bottom to top. I am sure not as strong as a 144 pump though.
I want to mention that, I keep my pump in the best condition that I can. I make sure my intake grate, is smooth with no burrs, and the same for the pump veins. My pump is in very good condition overall. I swear I can tell If i have picked up the smallest bit of trash in my pump. I was riding yesterday and noticed a slight bit of cavitation on acceleration. so stopped and checked, and there was a piece of pinestraw in my grate. I could tell the difference when it was gone.
my point being, this ski is demanding a lot out of this pump. if it doesnt seem like it's performing like it should, you might have a problem. it could also be your impeller is slightly bent, I have checked mine before and found it slightly bent, and after correcting it, It made a big difference.
