FX-1 FX-1 Mid Shaft

Hi team.

Yesturday my FX-1 gave up mid lake. Engine runs but just a nasty rattle and impeller shaft seemed to be free spinning. Stripped it down and the drive shaft and mid shaft splines are shot.

Because I live in NZ I have to get creative sometimes due to lack of avaliability of parts but dont want to do a bodgy on it. Not interested in loctite 660 for example.

Thinking the driveshaft, external splines, could be built up, lathed and milled but the internal splines in the midshaft are more of a problem.

Is there any way to repair the midshaft?
Has anyone put a spline insert in? Is a pin across it worth thinking about?

Or, better perhaps, does anyone have a good mid shaft and perhaps a driveshaft.

I have a drop ship address in the US. It's just the conversion rate and shipping costs that hurt but probably not as much as having a $3k paperweight sitting in the shed when I'm on holiday and its one of the hottest summers I can ever remember.

My day gets better and better.

Can these be welded once the ring is pressed out?

Otherwise might need one of these also

If you can handle fiberglass work you might want to consider a pump swap. The Kawasaki 650/X2 pump swap is pretty painless , good fit.

I was thinking of a pump swap but the standard 122 is plenty powerfull enough for me at the moment. Still learning and the go pretty well.
Might look at a 140 or 144 swap in the future. Thanks.

Post in WTB section to reach more people.
Thanks heaps for the quick reply in info, will sort payment to you shortly. Will also post in the WTB

Thanks to all who assisted in both parts and advice. Very much appreciated.

Supplementary question, simply for curiosity & mischief.
When using a 750 or 800 prop in a 650 pump. Can the collar in red be shortened 5mm instead of cutback on the impeller?

I found someone else ask this but haven't seen anyone answer.
