fx-1 pricing?

Im thinking of buying an fx-1 for the wife. since they don't pop up too often on CL I don't have a good estimate as to what a fair price is. For the sake of simplicity lets just assume the ski is stock. What would be a decent price for one in average condition not needing mechanical work, and one in excellent condition? Thanks

I woukd buy Nuklears ski on here that he is selling 3500 and it has a 735 decked out motor a b pipe tubbies aluminum pole and most off a 140 pump. Hell of a ski for the price.

There is a guy in CA that has several for sale - one was fully built for $2800, sick custom paint and lots of good parts... and he had a couple stock ones too...

Found one for $1700 local. The guy claims its in pristine condition but no pics. Bone stock. We're meeting in a warehouse in a sketchy part of town where he says he stores his ski. Little nervous about that....

Ok going tomorrow to check it out. He just told me that the ride plate is cracked???? cant seem to find a stock one on ebay, my google skills suck because all I get are results for an fx140, and blowsion only had a sweet aftermarket one. Does anyone on here know where I can find a cheap stock ride plate like say for 50 bucks? Like I said its just for the wife so I don't care about modding it.

Find8ng a stock rideplate is a needle in a haystack search. Anyone that comes up for sale is immediately bought. I havent seen one for sale in awhile. On the other hand you can find a used aftermarket one for like 70 or so bucks

Thats new. You just have to wait for someone to part out an fx1 or someone looking to sell. If I remeber right I think that john zigler has brand new protec plates for 130. If none of those pave out I would get ahold of one of the mafia boys and see if they have any plates laying around. I know a few people are making glass plates but im not sure on the price of those

well now he says that it also had what he calls a nickel size "chip" in the bottom of the ski that he re-glassed but didn't finish sanding. sounds like more than a chip to me. Im worried that the foam is going to be totally soaked now... This pristine FX-1 doesn't seem so pristine anymore... Still worth 1700? thoughts?
