FX-1 Redpipe

I recently had the opportunity to pick up a very good condition riva red pipe for my FX1 and am in the middle of installing it but am trying to figure out all the water lines and hook up for them will update with pics later unless someone can help before that.

I already know about the whole shimming and what not to make it fit.

thanks any help is much appreciated

Well i figured it out. And after it falling off a bunch and trying different things i finally hacked the crap out of the factory bracket and studded everything. Now its holding tight will get more pictures in a little bit. Im Working on the 701 wave jammer.

The hardware you chose in the pics wont last long it will rust. you may want to consider swapping out with some nice stainless and they will never rust and gall up the threads if you have to take the pipe back apart. Do I spy a Imola Yellow S4? nice wheels!

Yes that is my imola b5 s4 avant as well nice spot! Thanks on the wheels that car has alot of time spent on it. But they have been swapped out to stainless studs everywhere. The pipe already was stainless just couldnt find bolts for the head until today. So that is studded.

FX1RivaRed.jpg I knew i had a pic of a redpipe in a fx1. I have a red pipe on my blaster and will look into the cooling lines. but I know I have dual cooling so more than likely you'll have to split the water in from the pump and make it 2 lines one to pipe one to the head. as seen here

Yea thats how i had it set up before like in the picture but it was t as cold as i wished it to be so i added a second line off the stinger tuns colder and seems to have a bit more power.

Off topic but slightly on. It seems to hit rev limiter at about 3/4 throttle. Could something be going bad in the Ebox? Or is it time to bit the bullet and go msd?

Yes, msd is often the last piece of the puzzle now that you have raised compression, changed out the pipe and jetted the carb for more fuel. the pump is cavitating, You've reached the limitations of the stock pump and prop combo.

But if you don't want to drop the money on the msd. you can have your stock cdi modded so the rev limit is adjustable and raise it . this is a good option too. but if you want adjustable rev limit and a new timing curve all together. MSD is the way to go. but note that higher octane fuel may be necessary.

yes- that is a riva head bracket base that they used to sell along with the riva billet head. it was designed to be used all together.
